AVS Photo Editor is intended to modify your pictures. The application supports editing multiple image formats, such as BMP, ICO, WMF, EMF, JPEG, GIF, PNG, TIFF, PCX, TGA, RAS, and RAW. It scans your hard disk for images, which then become accessible right from its interface. Luckily, you do not have to memorize the names of the files, as the program shows thumbnails.
Fortunately, it is possible to use an after-before layout, which allows you to keep track of the changes you make to the original photograph. As most other similar applications, AVS Photo Editor lets you adjust size, crop the picture and rotate it to the desired angle. Likewise, it allows changing and refining colors. Good news is that you do not need to do everything manually as there are presets to give your pictures a different appearance, like the aged photo, high contrast, and sepia tones. Not only that, you can even create and save your own presets.
As to tweaking photos with small defects, the program can help you remove the red-eye effects and erase specific parts of the image. There is also a smart-correction feature that adjusts picture levels without your intervention. Other available operations are adding watermarks and analyzing the histogram of a photograph. Unfortunately, it does not seem to support batch processing. Once you are done with the editing, you can then save the picture in any of the multiple formats available or print it. more
